Thanks for clearing that up, the_dude.

I obviously didn't read the Patrick piece in its entirety or catch the show live.

I just thought it was roundball since it was RJ doing the remarking, or answering Patrick's question.

We have an 8 year old who would love to commit to Stoops, Miller, Lopez, Busch, LaRose and Golembiewski.

What are the chances of getting WILDABOUTAZCATS up here to cover the story?

Can't hurt having Jeffferson, whose money lead the way in building the new UA practice facility and whose name graces the building's exterior, on with Patrick.

Too bad RJ didn't take the opportunity to get a dig in to Katz for his under the belt reference to that exact facility.

BTW, Javier, Anthony & Co., now that Richard's playing for the Spurs, a team that arguably gives him a better chance to finally realize his dream of a championship, which of the present lot of Wildcats in the NBA will more than likely be the next 'Cat to win a NBA title?

We all know what Walton's Lakers - Walton's Lakers...kind of has a ring to it, doesn't it? - just accomplished, so who's got next?

JT's Mavericks? Igoudala's 'Sixers? Arena's Wizards? Fyrye and Bayless' Blazers? Bibby's Hawks? Budinger's Rockets? Hill's Knickerbockers? Or, in a repeat performance, Walton's Lakers?

One man's theory for Katz's - for the eastern establishment media's - constant lambasting of Arizona: Ignorance.

You can't build up, hold up, praise or relate to something you know absolutely nothing about, so it's a lot easier to keep tearing it down in hopes you never really have to face it.

Again, does anyone know if and when Katz has ever even set foot in McKale?

I know Katz, like the Citizen's Rivera, once covered New Mexico sports, and in particular NMSU, the Aggies of Lou Henson and Reggie Theus fame.

Still, that doesn't constitute Arizona, and specifically UA, sports.

In defense of the Vol's. of Pearl, Tennessee has no options but to recruit 13-year-olds.

Josh the Kid has passed Bruce the Odd Man Out before Pastner's even had a chance to try out his office desk chair, even as JP's just barely sprouting facial fuzz and BP's seeing more and more strands of, no not pearls, but grays coming in by the seconds.

But if I'm 13, I neither go with Pastner or Pearl, but rather with the guy who himself could ball at a similarly early age and showed it to the world...on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson: Coach Miller!

PS- On Lamb....

Javy maybe working on piece associated with Lamb.
If so, he will have some good stuff.

There are reasons why he like Oklahoma-Tiny.
There are resaons why he likes Kansas, former player.
(Think I read it or saw Lamb in an interview last week.)

Blue...

The Fox article is a follow from what Lamb orignally said.

The sequence transpired last week with Lamb saying, I am not ready to commit.
Lamb had to make a statement because the Calicat fans were STATING ,Rumor, that Lamb will commit SOON.

So, when Lamb made his initial statement....
Everyone was slamming the UK program and its failure.
(Lamb made no mention of the UK being his leader.)

In Jeff piece....(almost a week later) Lamb had to smooth things out.
Probably some good advise from Smith, from Oak.

One thing is for SURE...Lamb will visit Arizona.

And Arizona has a number of key items in its favor.
Miller is getting a better rep.
Book knows Lamb.
Smith is ProArizona.
MoMo and Lamb were 40-0, until the last game.

Jessie- what might be bigger news is in that same article... sounds like we're not one of Doron Lamb's top schools...

"As for those who have said Lamb is close to committing to John Calipari, he says he’s “still open”, but that Kentucky “is at the top.”

Lamb has also visited Louisville and mentioned Kansas, Oklahoma, Marquette and UConn as other schools he’s considering. "

Jeff Goodman on J.Martin....hating.

Justin Martin re-opening his recruitment.

It was clear that the other players didn’t want to play with Martin – who displayed a poor attitude at the event.

the_dude: You are correct about Katz being the only one saying Arizona had an Indiana-like situation. Seth Davis mentioned that Livengood would be hard pressed to hire a big-name coach because of the financial implications.

I think it would be more accurate to say USC is in an Indiana-like situation, don't you think? Yet, have we read Katz write about this? Instead, he wrote a complimentary blog of O'Neill keeping the assistants and actually notes that the Trojans can compete in the Pac-10 if they can score? They may be good on defense, but generally to keep up the defensive intensity, you need a bench, which USC will lack. O'Neill will be forced to take in some walk-ons a la Indiana. I am not sure why Katz has a slant against Arizona, other than the fact someone there broke the news of Olson's retirement to Dick Vitale instead of him.

katz:
'There was fear of an Indiana-like situation with the departures of Hill and Chase Budinger and a void in recruiting during two seasons of interim coaches.'

no one said the UA was in an indiana situation but mr. katz. the troubles we experienced in hiring a coach were exasperated by the likes of him because he was dogging the program on a national platform and "reporting" that we were being shot-down by anyone and everyone, even when no evidence existed that we'd even made contact.
