| Excerpt of article written about former UA forward Richard Jefferson in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel
“Richard Jefferson said Monday that he thought he would return to the Bucks this season and was caught a bit off guard by the June 23 swap that sent him to the Spurs. “I think people overestimate,” Jefferson said. “I didn’t know anything about the salary issues. I think people think players read the rumors, but that’s not really what goes on. “I was in Milwaukee working out with the team the week before. If I thought I was going to get traded or knew that was going to happen, I probably wouldn’t have made that trip. It was a shock. I had no clue.” When he was traded, Jefferson had two years and $29 million remaining on his contract. The Bucks took expiring deals in return.
