I’ve been told that Holiday Bowl officials extended an invitation to Arizona before the team returned from Los Angeles on Saturday night.
An official announcement will come Sunday.
Arizona will play a Big 12 opponent on Dec. 30 in San Diego. That opponent figures to be Nebraska, which lost to Texas in the Big 12 championship game Saturday night.

I’ll never complain about redshirt soph Foles ever again.
Here in the Texas-Nebraska game we have supposed Heisman lock Colt McCoy, a seasoned senior, not showing any more smarts than the next QB with the way he nonshalantly handled the last few seconds of the game, almost costing his team not only this game but also the National Championship game.
If it’s me with a vote come Monday by 5pm, it’s Toby Gerhardt for me…for the Heisman.
Toby clincher tonight.

If Nebraska’s defense plays like it did in the Big XII title game, it could be one heck of a tough game. That being said, on the flip side, their offense was quite laughable nearly the entire game.
I’ll be looking forward to the game and I expect better focus/intensity throughout from Zona.

Oh and referring to the Heisman, if Gerhart was on a team being considered for teh BCS title game, there’d be no way he doesn’t win it. His numbers are ridiculous with almost 1800 yards and 26 tds.

Gerhart is a dark horse and a damn good player…but who cares?!?!
We’re going to the Holiday Bowl Dec 30th and I’ll be there!

The above video is brought to you for comic relief.
It by no means says that Coach Miller is going through this now.
Coach Olson in his first year at Arizona – most certainly in his first practice and first game – possibly felt somewhat like Coach Bell.
Coach Miller in his first post-O’Neill-Pennell era practice might’ve – just maybe – gotten his “Coach Bell” rung a time or two.
But the clip is worth a chuckle, I must admit…
How Nolte didn’t get nominated and win outright, I don’t know.

Here’s a thread in which USC fans have some nice words for the Cats:

We will need too bring in a good defense for this game, however, that really hasn’t been done all season. We will have to rely on a great defense, for which we have. Glad not every team has a Suh on their team.. so glad he is on ours.
Nothing yet on whether this is a for sure or not yet. If not, good luck to your team, if so, good luck to your offense!
GO BIG RED!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry..my previous comment should have said offense at the beginning, but, I guess all knew what I meant anyway… if you watch college football.. lol

Pelini, who’s considered one of the top defensive minds in football, vs Stoops, not a bad defensive mind himself, should be worth the price of admission.
This is where Offensive Coordinator Dykes & Co. show what he and they (minus Gronk unfortunately) are made of.
Fun city.
